MyConceive Community

Create a Profile

We encourage you to be truthful when entering information for your profile, and to fill in as much about yourself as you’re comfortable divulging (information that’s required is indicated with an asterisk). You can edit your profile any time; choose “Edit Profile” in the Profile dropdown box.

Your Profile Page
Your profile details are displayed starting at the top right corner of your profile page. This page also displays your applications, and shows some of your friends, with a link to display them all.

Below your profile picture and member information, you may update your status, invite friends, edit your profile, add applications, start a new group, upload photos, and more.

Your Profile Page Wall
Using your wall, you and your friends will be able to leave comments on your profile page.

Upload a Profile Picture
Choose a photo, icon, or avatar to represent you, and update it as often as you like. Under the Profile dropdown box choose “Change Profile Picture”. The maximum file size for upload is 100 MB, and the maximum width for your picture is 160px.  Large images will automatically be resized.

Activity Points
MyConceive has a user point system to indicate how active you are in the community. The points will only be activated after you upload a profile picture.

Add Applications
Enhance your profile with an application. Browse the “Applications” menu in MyConceive.

If you have a Twitter account, you can add a “My Twitter Feed” application to your profile that will automatically post your tweets. When you update your status on MyConceive, it will also automatically update your Twitter.

You can also add the “My Friend’s Locations” application to create a map on your profile page that shows where your MyConceive friends live.

Find Friends
We encourage you to connect. Share your experiences and stories with others who are also on the journey to parenthood, and find support from others who have traveled the same road. You can search for friends on MyConceive’s homepage. Click “Advanced Search” to find friends by different criteria, such as TTC stage.

Invite Friends
If you know of anyone you think would like to join MyConceive, send them an invitation. Find the “Invite Friends” button on your profile and type in your friend’s email address to send a message and invitation.

Explore the Groups
Choose groups you’re interested in, and join them by clicking the green “Join Group” button. After you’re in the group, you can participate by adding announcements, creating and adding to discussions, and posting on the group’s wall.

Create a New Group
You are welcome to create new groups at MyConceive. On the Applications dropdown menu, choose “Groups,” then “Create” (on the right side of the screen). Another way to start a new group is to click the “Start New Group” link under the status on your profile page. In either case, you’ll be able to add a group photo and description.

Send a Private Message
There are two ways to send private messages. The first is to visit the profile page of the user you’d like to message by clicking on their username anywhere in the community or forums.  Click “Write Message” under their photo. The second way to send a private message is to click “Write” in the dropdown menu under the Inbox tab.  From there, just type in the username of the user you’d like to message or select a friend from the list on the right.

MyConceive Forums

Explore the Forums
You can access the forums either through the icon at the top of MyConceive or in the MyConceive dropdown menu in the main ConceiveOnline.com menu bar. Contribute to a thread in any category by responding to an existing post; choose the green “Quick Reply” or “Reply” button.
