New men’s underwear claims to enhance your odds of conceiving

These skivvies are a blend of mesh, bamboo, and organic cotton and make it easier (and more fun) to get pregnant, say its creators.

We’re not sure how many men would want to see a pair of STUD underwear under the Christmas tree or by the Hanukkah menorah – but, well, it would definitely be a conversation starter. According to the press release for the new line of underwear, these undergarments were created by a Canadian fertility doctor, Spence Pentland, and wife Chantal, and are a “revolutionary new concept in men’s underwear that merges sexy with science.”

The skivvies are a blend of mesh (for improved breathability in, um, key areas), bamboo, and organic cotton and come in a hip brief and a boxer trunk option (you can see the products here; they aren’t exactly G-rated so we chose not to show them). The “science” aspect of the underwear is that the fabric and construction are designed to allow more circulation, thereby optimizing the environment for healthy sperm. (For more on the question of boxers vs. briefs, read this article.) The “sexy” part – well, that’s for you to decide. A pair of STUD underwear is ordinarily CDN $57.99, but they're on sale now for the holidays for CDN $43.50, and can be found online and at various Canadian retailers.

Would you try STUD underwear? Did your husband change the type of underwear he wears to improve your chances of getting pregnant?
