You’ve heard it before but yes, you should work to manage your stress. “Stress can increase levels of cortisol [the so-called stress hormone] and can shut down your reproductive system,” says Dr. Kim. Not to mention that stress can also affect your relationship with your partner, making intimacy more difficult. Some women find that yoga or meditation helps alleviate anxiety and tension. But other women may find they need professional help to get stress under control.
